November 10th is International Science Museum Day! With more than 300 million guests visiting science museums each year, this day is a reminder of the universality of science and its capacity to build bridges across geographical, cultural, and religious boundaries, all while addressing common concerns, according to the Science Center World Summit.

Introducing the EiE Habits of Mind
For the EiE team, 2020 featured an important milestone: the publication of Engineering and Computer Science Essentials, our first curriculum to feature computer science. Since we’ve traditionally focused on engineering, the inclusion of this new discipline raised a question: how could we update our “Engineering Habits of Mind”—a set of thought patterns that people use while engineering—so they applied to computer science as well?

Design Challenges for Mass STEM Week 2020!
Last week, in partnership with the Massachusetts STEM Advisory Council and the Executive Office of Education, we celebrated Mass STEM Week 2020 with you!
We offered a full schedule of events including office hours with the Museum of Science and EiE team, mentoring sessions with Engineers and Scientists from across the state of Massachusetts, and a celebration webinar featuring Massachusetts’ Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito and Secretary of Education James Peyser.
