## [“Classroom Teachers are Experts”: Watch Christine Cunningham’s Acceptance Speech](https://yesblog.mos.org/classroom-teachers-are-experts-christine-cunninghams-acceptance-speech)

Last month, our founder and director, Christine Cunningham, was awarded a [Harold W. McGraw, Jr. Prize in Education](http://www.mheducation.com/news-media/press-releases/three-innovators-named-winners.html). Christine was recognized in the U.S. K-12 Education category for “pioneering a curriculum that is transforming education by introducing engineering concepts and practices at the elementary level.” Her acceptance speech at the ASU/GSV Summit moved the crowd and highlighted EiE’s commitment to making engineering accessible to ALL students.

 The EiE Professional Development Team works tirelessly to find innovative ways to make high-quality, affordable professional development accessible to educators all over the world. That’s why we’ve been so excited to roll out our new [Online PD](http://eie.org/onlinepd) experiences. Over the past year, we’ve conducted webinars about [habits of mind](http://www.eie.org/onlinepd) and [engineering in out-of-school time](http://www.eie.org/onlinepd-recording-archive), and we’ve had some amazing discussions with educators around the country about STEM integration and ELA connections. In March, we mentioned our brand new Online PD Scholarship on the blog, and we were blown away by the response! From the huge volume of applications, the Online PD team has pulled together an amazing team of dedicated educators to help us pilot test the very first online PD workshop series.

This week is [National Engineers Week](http://www.discovere.org/our-programs/engineers-week), an event that aims to get more kids interested in engineering careers. So it couldn't be a better time to announce a new collaboration between the Museum of Science and the Boston-based risk-modelling firm [AIR Worldwide](http://www.air-worldwide.com/) (AIR) that will bring the Engineering is Elementary curriculum to six elementary schools in the [Boston Public Schools](http://www.bostonpublicschools.org/site/default.aspx?PageID=1) (BPS) system.
